THE NEW "OKLAHOMA PROPERTY TAXPAYERS' ASSOCIATION"

The Rogers County Property Owners' Association filed papers in Oklahoma City with the Secretary of State's office to form a statewide organization.   The purpose of this organization will be to take the message of lower property taxes statewide.  "It is essential that property owners all across Oklahoma be organized and informed," said Ted King, president of the Rogers County Property Owners' Association.
The Rogers County group will remain a local group but it will be under the umbrella of the new statewide organization.  The new group that was approved by the Secretary of State on October 6th is the Oklahoma Property Taxpayers' Association.  The Oklahoma group will seek to establish chapters in counties across the state.  The Rogers County and new statewide organization will work for a 1% cap on property tax increases, place a freeze on property taxes for Senior Citizens, inform the voters as to where candidates stand on property taxes and endorse candidates for office.  The group will also inform the pubic about wasteful spending in public education.
